Monticello Motel

We're still staying here, but since rooms in Portland are scarce and pretty pricey, we definitely wanted to jump on to rave about the Monticello Motel. Extremely clean, updated, well-maintained rooms; excellent service. We didn't need our room cleaned every day, but the owners would still knock to check on us and make sure we had coffee, towels, toiletries, etc. The room was very comfortably cool with the air conditioning unit, but the blankets cozy when it got cold. Excellent WiFi allowed us to work remotely during our stay. The location was amazing, we walked into Mississippi Street every day, to a local bar a few blocks away for a night cap, and back to a very quiet atmosphere at the motel. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in town.

It's always delightful to stay at the Monticello the owners is so nice and friendly and they treat you really good I try my best to stay at the Monticello whenever I can and I enjoy the quietness and respect and they care about there guests that stays there I am also is one of there regulars whose stays there all the time they make you feel right at home this is a wonderful place to stay at I recommend if you want a good place to stay at go to the Monticello

There's so many things majorly wrong with this place For several weeks when my house was being remodeled I stayed at the Monticello. The Worst part was I was walked in on more than once when I had no clothes on the lady manager told me well it's just us girls and stood there she told me your lucky it wasn't my husband! lucky me. I had many things turn up missing from my room and it made me think is this lady or what? .Also no one gets a deposit back there. It doesn't happen I've seen people stay 1 night leave the room just fine and not get the deposit back and they were very upset. It's some kind of scam to keep the deposit no matter what which is Not very kosher if you ask me. Or maybe they just do it to people they think they will get away with it either way its so wrong.I paided on time and left my room much cleaner than it was to begin with by far and thought I would get mine back and they made up stuff wrong with the room and the only thing I got back was a headache and it took up way to much rent in my head. Steer clear from there. ?

Booked 2 rooms months ahead and stayed a month ago. We requested adjacent rooms but we didn't get that request. We stayed in the Standard Deluxe Room with 2 twin beds. Since we went around town a lot for our trip, we just needed a safe place to leave our luggages and rest for the night. The rooms do need an update but are well kept and clean. No strong odors and pests around. They provided us with fresh clean towels and made our beds daily. Our linen were also good and in crisp white. The ac worked perfectly fine this summer. Our room window opened to a wall so it was dim. My friend did her makeup in the bathroom which had adequate lighting but I found it hard despite the huge mirror and table. I appreciated the hotel staff who provided us with disposable utensils when our delivered food didn't come with those. I recommend this place for travelers on a budget and who won't be staying in their rooms much of the time.
